Route Optimizations

Currently, there has to be a way to have a more efficient route. Up til getting the Jewel of Open is pretty straightforward. But that’s when you can go to Royal Chapel or to the Caverns. Both requiring numerous revisits to completely map out.

If we were to take the Royal Chapel first, it is the more straightforward path, as we end with Leap Stone and the Castle Keep Warp. Then go to Caverns and navigate that until Entrance back to the warp or Library Card.

Then the choice becomes singular again with Colosseum and whether to map it out completely or do it over time depending on the number of revisits. Getting the Form of Mist and the Warp in Orlox’s Quarters.

This would correlate with the boss guides that are provided in game. Hippogryph then Scylla and finally Minotaur & Werewolf. So next is Karasuman in Castle Keep. But before we go there, we return to Long Library after Colosseum to get Form of Bat. This means we’ll go to get the Warp in Olrox’s Quarters then double back a short distance to Colosseum. Since we have Form of Bat, that means we can now both defeat Richter and map out Castle Keep completely without making several return trips. That means getting Fire of Bat, Power of Mist & Ghost Card in this visit. After defeating Karasuman and deciding if we wish to beat the game for the bad ending here our paths diverge slightly again.

This part seems pretty straightforward now that I’ve written it down.

Next would be going back to Caverns for Succubus, to cut down on backtracking, we’re going to take the warp from Castle Keep to Olrox’s Quarters to Marble Gallery to grab the Gravity Boots before going to Cavern. At this point, Marble Gallery is pretty much mapped out at this point, the only question being is do we want to consider getting the items that are out of reach and require either Bat or Gravity Boots to reach a part of “completion”. I just remembered, there’s still Holy Glasses location for Marble Gallery. Which is why we’re going to Succubus next to get the Gold Ring.

After Succubus, we’ll be heading down further to Holy Symbol location, then back up to the bridge. The switch should be activated in the previous Cavern visit. We then at this point go to fight Cerberus, get Demon Card and the Cave warp but we don’t enter the Catacombs, we immediately make a U-Turn, activate the hidden switch with the Demon familiar and head back to Caverns and map out the remaining parts of the map. Which would lead up back to Entrance. Immediately returning to Entrance, we have the Jewel Sword hidden area, Holy Mail in the save area above, nearby is Power of Wolf.

At this point, there are items at the early sections of Alchemy Laboratory. It’s not a big area, but I’m still wondering if it’s better to go up there for Skill of Wolf first or we go up Marble Gallery to the consumable items or just skip Marble Gallery and head up Alchemy Laboratory and make a beeline to Royal Chapel and detour to Colosseum and then to the Orlox boss fight to get Echo of Bat and leave immediately. This is so that we have something to do once we come back after getting Spike Breaker in the Catacombs which is where we’re heading to next using the Olrox’s Quarters Warp.
