I just realized that Warhammer 40000 - Darktide scratches an itch that I’ve been having since I’ve stopped playing Destiny 2. Stop me if you’ve heard this before, you have multiple characters that you need to level up, you log in to check the daily/weekly bounty board, you play a mission or two with randoms to gain more levels or hope for a weapon drop that will let you tackle harder difficulties. For me, playing Darktide alone isn’t a game that I want to spend hours on because of the random players you get in the public matches. So outside of the squad gameplay with my friends, it serves this slow dopamine drip of grind and loot drop that Destiny 2 used to occupy.
